Click and collect your dry cleaning with your groceries with Asda and Timpson

Londoners will be able to pick up their dry cleaning at the same time as their groceries under a new partnership between Asda and Timpson.

Shoppers can place their order for both services online.

Items to be cleaned can be collected when their home shopping is delivered, or dropped off at one of Asda’s click-andcollect points. These include 12 north London Tube stations.

The dry cleaning will be available to collect, or returned with the customer’s next order. There is a minimum spend of £25 for the service, which can cover groceries, dry cleaning or both.

Mark Ibbotson, chief operations officer at Asda, said the firm was starting the initiative in London “because it’s a business hub, where the majority of residents dry-clean their clothes every week and are likely to embrace the extra convenience this will give them”.

The pilot will include Camden, Potters Bar and Cheshunt.

Asda already hosts Timpson, which also offers key cutting and shoe repair, in its larger stores.

Last week the family run chain began offering free dry cleaning for unemployed people in need of a clean outfit for an interview.

As the UK’s second largest supermarket behind Tesco, Asda is attempting to crack the London market through its online offer as it has struggled to find central locations for its large stores.

Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado already offer a click-andcollect service using grocery vans in Tube station car parks.
