Helical waits for word on White City project

Developer Helical Bar is on tenterhooks over the fate of a £1.5 billion scheme forming part of the regeneration of White City in west London.

The company said Hammersmith & Fulham Council would decide on planning permission for the Brickfields project — to be built on a former Dairy Crest site next to the Tube station — within the next few weeks. Helical, in joint venture with Aviva, plans to build 1,150 homes as well as offices and shops.

The developer, which is shifting its focus towards London and the South-East, recently snapped up four buildings on Old Street’s “Silicon Roundabout” tech hub for £60.8 million.
