Jeremy Tigue to step down from F&C and retire

Veteran City fund manager Jeremy Tigue is to step down from running the £2 billion Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust after almost 17 years and to retire after 33 years in the business.

Founded in 1868, F&C is probably the best known such collective investment vehicle in the country. Thousands of shareholders received Tigue’s regular updates on his investment policy each year. In the time he has managed the trust, an investment of £1000 would have grown to £3215, compared with £2697 if it had merely tracked the FTSE All-World index.

Tigue also advised the BP and British Steel pension funds.
