Upbeat Capita climbs to £426m

28 February 2013

Outsourcing giant Capita increased its profits last year after winning a series of public services contracts.

Pre-tax profits rose 10% to £425.6 million as the company extended a £30 million-a-year tie-up with the Government to help train civil servants. It said it saw opportunities in defence, health, justice and emergency services, with departments under pressure to reduce budgets while maintaining frontline services.

Chief executive Paul Pindar said: “Our major contract sales success in 2012 gives us excellent revenue visibility for 2013. The continued buoyant sales environment, as evidenced by the rapid replenishment of our bid pipeline, provides the ingredients for further growth in 2013 and underpins our confidence in the group’s long term performance prospects.”
