Capita in talks on software arm sale

Capita today said it is in talks to sell part of its IBS OpenSystems software business after competition authorities ruled it had become too dominant in the market.

The Competition Commission is forcing the outsourcing giant to offload the revenues and benefits division, which is used by local councils to distribute benefits and collect tax.

If no sale is achieved, Capita will have to sell the entire IBS business.
