Experian CFO Brooks dies at 58

11 April 2012

Paul Brooks, the chief financial officer of Experian, died suddenly this weekend at his home in California. He was 58.

The British executive had joined the credit reference giant in 1999 as finance director of the international arm. He was previously at Inchcape, based in Singapore.

Experian did not elaborate on the cause of death, but chairman Sir John Peace paid tribute.

"Paul was a great friend, a talented colleague and an inspirational leader and will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of working and dealing with him. Our immediate thoughts are with his wife and family and we will do everything we can to support them at this difficult time," said Peace.

He added: "Paul's legacy to Experian will be the very strong global finance team he developed."
Brooks was also a non executive director of Serco, the outsourcing giant. He was paid £1.4 million by Experian last year.
