Jessops in relaunch of its flagship

Fresh start: Jessops has relaunched its flagship store in London's New Oxford Street
11 April 2012

Ailing camera retailer Jessops has relaunched its flagship store in London's New Oxford Street in an attempt to convince customers that it has finally moved into the digital age.

The firm, whose share price has tumbled 80% in the past two years, saw sales slide as customers rapidly switched across from single lens reflex cameras, taking pictures on film, to digital and even mobile phone cameras.

It is trying to fight back by emphasising a multitude of printing and developing services at the new store as well as letting customers handle and use cameras in the store before they buy them.
