Kate Barker becomes non-executive director with Taylor Wimpey

11 April 2012

Former Bank of England rate-setter Kate Barker is set to add another role to her burgeoning portfolio since stepping down as a policymaker last year.

Barker, who served on the Monetary Policy Committee from 2001-2010, is joining housebuilder Taylor Wimpey as a non-executive director.

Since leaving the MPC, she has taken up non-exec roles with private equity firm Electra and the Yorkshire Building Society, as well as becoming a senior adviser to bank Credit Suisse.

Barker, who led independent Government reviews on housing supply and planning, will resign from her board position with the Homes and Communities Agency before joining Taylor Wimpey.
