Toyota to keep plants closed for even longer

Toyota: prior to the earthquake the world's largest carmaker had been trying to divert more of its operations away from Japan

Toyota Motor, the world's largest carmaker, said it will keep all of its 12 assembly plants in Japan closed at least through March 26 as it struggles to restart production halted by the massive earthquake that hit Japan earlier this month.

The company has not yet decided whether it will start production from after March 26.
