BFI London Film Festival: Hidden gem of the day – Ovarian Psycos

Nick Roddick picks his lesser known must-see for Saturday October 8
Pretty snazzy: the Psycos
Nick Roddick7 October 2016

Take a ride outside your comfort zone with this group of angry women of colour from East LA who campaign against prejudice and violence on that least Californian of vehicles, the push bike (although most of the Psycos - who wear black bandanas with a fallopian-tube motif - ride pretty snazzy silver dream racers).

This doumentary’s strength lies both in the exhilaration of the traffic-blocking rides and the intimate portaits of certain members as they battle, not just against male violence and racism, but also against the conservatism of their families.

Showing: Saturday October 8, Prince Charles, 15:30
