Hot on the heels of the first poster, which arrived earlier this week, the first trailer for the cinematic reboot of Dad’s Army has arrived.

The classic Seventies comedy series is returning on the big screen, with a starry cast of renowned British actors.

Leading the way is Toby Jones as Captain George Mainwaring, a role originally played by Arthur Lowe. Bill Nighy plays Sergeant Arthur Wilson, and Michael Gambon is taking on the elderly Private Charles Godfrey. The film also stars The Inbetweeners’ Blake Harrison as Private Pike.

The film is set after the events of the TV series, in 1944, with Catherine Zeta-Jones starring as glamorous journalist ? who arrives in Walmington-on-Sea to report on the titular Home Guard soldiers, only for MI5 to discover that there’s a German spy somewhere in the town.

Directed by Oliver Parker, who was behind the cinema reboot of St Trinians, Dad’s Army arrives in February 2016.
