Jumping in with both feet

10 April 2012

A geeky-looking Nigerian bloke misses his fiancee's plane at New York, then accidentally links up with far more promising companions: a Frenchman who's a dab hand with chocolate mousse in the kitchen, an extrovert Hispanic girl, her English backpacker lover.

First-time writer-director Joel Hopkins's romantic "relationship" comedy flits lightly over the quartet as they get themselves sorted.

Set in New York and Niagara Falls - hence the "leap of faith" title - it makes a virtue of mostly fresh faces, well-designed photography and sharp moments. Starring Tunde Adebimpe, Hippolyte Girardot, Natalia Verbeke and James Wilby.
