Tamzin lands Woody Allen role

10 April 2012

Tamzin Outhwaite has landed a part in Woody Allen's latest film. The ex-EastEnder will appear opposite Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell in the movie, known only as the Woody Allen Summer Project.

She will play a brassy blonde in the comedy thriller, according to The Sun. In the film, currently shooting in London, McGregor and Farrell play feuding brothers who turn to crime to pay their gambling debts.

"Tamzin wants to crack Hollywood and this is her first big step," a friend told the paper. "She was absolutely thrilled to bits when she was offered the part and jumped at the chance. It is like a dream come true for her to work with a genius like Woody Allen."

Outhwaite, 35, found fame as Melanie Healy in EastEnders and has since appeared in TV dramas Red Cap and Hotel Babylon. Her first bid to break into Hollywood, the Wesley Snipes action movie 7 Seconds, went straight to video.
