A brand new music venue is coming to King’s Cross.
Lafayette, which is due to open in February 2020, is the second venture from Mumford and Sons’ Ben Lovett, who opened Omeara in London Bridge three years ago.
The new space, located on Goods Way between Pancras Square and Granary Square, will host both live music events and club nights.
Lovett said: “A few years ago I embarked on a journey into the unknown with family and friends and launched Omeara at Flat Iron Square. We weren’t entirely clear how to achieve what we ultimately wanted, but we definitely knew what it needed to be and why we were doing it.
“I have had some of my favourite and most memorable experiences in Omeara since it opened back in late 2016, and I truly believe that the experience it has provided both fans and artists is something so important to London’s venue landscape.”
He added: “It’s still early days in [Lafayette’s] construction but this time, not only do we know exactly what it will be and why we’re doing it, we’re now extremely confident that we know how to deliver it too.”

More details on the venue, including the first events to be held there, will be announced soon. The shows will be booked by Communion, which also looks after curation at Omeara.
Lovett, a founding member of Mumford and Sons, launched the 350-capacity venue Omeara in October 2016. It has won fans for its eclectic programme and long running hours, which encompass early evening gigs and late-running club events.
