This raucous and brash eleventh album proves Robbie’s still a prime entertainer

Often disparaged as a mere entertainer rather than a serious songwriter, Robbie Williams embraces that distinction on his 11th album.

It’s big, brash and with a roll call of collaborators who can just about contain his wayward personality.

Guy Chambers, his former co-writer who returned to the fold in 2013, is back with credits including the title track.

But Williams doesn’t rely on him as he once did — a member of Snow Patrol does the job on Love My Life, while Ed Sheeran, The Killers and Rufus Wainwright also lend a hand.

Perhaps the highlight, though, is the raucous M***********, an Oasis pastiche elevated to a fervent anthem for Williams’s young family. He’s still got it.
