Sweeney Todd

Meat pie, anyone? Sweeney Todd

The Watermill Theatre's John Doyle has achieved an impressive reputation for staging impossibly elaborate musicals in a space where there wouldn't even be room to swing the smallest kitten in the cat's litter.

Now he has the chance to bring his very successful Sweeney Todd to Whitehall, only a short bus ride away from the demon barber's former stalking ground of Fleet Street.

Nine actor-musicians are requested to perform an impossible number of tasks for this exuberant offering from Sondheim.

Previewing from Thur 22 Jul, first night Tue 27 Jul, Trafalgar Studios, 14 Whitehall, SW1 (0870 060 6623).
