Holly Willoughby freaked out on This Morning after an over-friendly snake wrapped itself around her legs.

Willoughby and co-presenter Phillip Schofield opened the show with the slithery creature draped over them as they kicked off their I’m A Celebrity coverage.

Trying to keep calm while she held the reptile up on her shoulder, she said: “Look at this friend you’ve got. I didn’t mind snakes too much.

“She’s very beautiful as long as she stays that way.”

But her confidence was soon knocked as the snake started coiling its tail around Willoughby’s left leg and hoisting up her skirt.

Interrupting Schofield she said: “Hang on a second, look what’s happened.”

Schofield burst out laughing, saying: “Good lord. Good gracious. Just let it happen.”

Unnerved by the giant intruder, Willoughby shouted for help: “What do I do! I don’t know what to do. Can you get it off?”

Schofield joked, “don’t help her,” before two people rushed on to take the snake.

Willoughby said: “That made me panic a bit! We were being so cool with it.”
