Netflix has done a stellar job so far of bringing some of Marvel’s grittier heroes to the screen with Daredevil and Jessica Jones – and now we know when their latest ‘street-level’ comic book series is arriving.
After making his debut in a significant role in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage is set to receive his own full series on September 30.
The solo run is expected to see Cage move out of Hell’s Kitchen, where the other Netflix Marvel series are set, and head to Harlem after the tumultuous events of Jessica Jones.
Mike Colter, who portrayed Cage in Jessica Jones, confirmed the start date on the red carpet for Daredevil Season 2.
“I will see the fans on September 30th,” he confirmed.
Cage possesses super-human strength and has unbreakable skin – making him particularly handy in a brawl.
The second season of Daredevil will bring fan-favourite Marvel anti-hero The Punisher to the fray, as well as Elektra.

As with the Avengers films, Netflix’s Marvel series exist in the same universe, meaning characters are free to weave in and out of each show – will we see Luke Cage in Daredevil? And will Jessica Jones return the favour by playing a major role in Luke Cage?
