One of the highlights of New Year’s TV is the annual arrival of the Big Fat Quiz of the Year on Channel 4.
With a host of hilarious panellists – usually Richard Ayoade and Peep Show’s David Mitchell are among the celebs – and Jimmy Carr on presenting duties, it offers a hilarious and silly look at the last 12 months.
Well, now you don’t have to hold on until December for the latest one, because the Big Fat Quiz of Everything is here.
It’s, well, basically exactly the same as the end-of-year version, with Jimmy Carr asking the questions and a smattering of guests popping up along the way.
The panellists tasked with answering the questions in Episode 1 are Jonathan Ross, Bake Off’s Mel Giedroyc, Flight of the Conchords star Kristen Schaal, Bob Mortimer, and Claudia Winkleman. Oh, and David Mitchell of course.
While the three-part Everything series won’t be a look at 2016 (there should still be a Quiz of the Year to come), expect questions on topics ranging from anthropology to art, TV to celebrities, and Fight Club to Alanis Morissette.

As anyone who saw Mr Blobby’s appearance on the Big Fat Quiz of the 90s will know, it’s often the guests that bring some of the biggest laughs – this time look out for First Dates maître d’ Fred Sirieix, Joey Essex and Jon Snow (the Channel 4 one, not the Game of Thrones one) who will be helping out.
