Professor Green is on a mission to re-engage working class men. In his new documentary he travels the country to meet men struggling to make a living for themselves, achieve their dreams or overcome low expectations from those around them.
What’s it about?
The series sees Green, real name Stephen Manderson, head to different parts of the UK to find out more about the struggles of working class men.
In Eastleigh he meets Lewis, who is hoping to defy the odds and gain entry to Cambridge University but feels he must hide his inauspicious roots.
There’s also Essex boy Denzil who is an aspiring entrepreneur with a series of inventive money-making schemes and unemployed David, who Manderson encounters when he’s living in a homeless hostel and on the brink of becoming involved in far-right politics.
Who is Professor Green?
Manderson is best-known for his career as a rapper and producer. He has been outspoken throughout his career on various political issues, fronting documentaries for the BBC and other broadcasters on homelessness, poverty, the legalisation of weed and male suicide.
