A vegan lifestyle festival is coming to Brick Lane in August

A month-long “vegan lifestyle festival” aimed at the “V-curious” is coming to London this summer.

V For, billed as “promoting a conscious way of living”, will open at The Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane at the start of August.

The festival will feature a vegan sustainable fashion show, an expanded plant-based night food market, educational sessions and parties.

Rooftop yoga sessions, and workshops from ITV Ninja Warrior winner, Tim Shieff, will run alongside fitness classes from BBC 1Xtra DJ and vegan advocate, Melody Kane.

Londoners will also have the chance to try out new brands and tools, such as environmental impact apps, and shop for “vegan” shoes.

Outlets across East London will host one-off events in conjunction with the festival, including an exclusively meat-free weekend market at Brick Lane Food Hall, an “immersive vegan exhibition” at pop-up Plant Pop, and new vegan menus at DF/Mexico, Juju’s Bar and Stage and Ninety One.

Steve Paton, Site Development lead at The Old Truman Brewery, said: “London has one of the most exciting vegan food scenes in the world right now and a huge amount of people are making the change and becoming vegan, there are so many exciting new food places and markets are opening.

"Chains are starting to change their menus - there is a really huge momentum, you can see it everywhere you look now and we are just trying to bring it all together in one place.”
