Photographer David LaChapelle is one of the famous names to have designed a guitar for the event

Harrods' shoppers will be swapping Fendi bags for Fenders with the launch of Harrods Rocks at the famous Knightsbridge store.

The event features live music performances, guitar masterclasses, a fashion show and 'denim bar', and an exhibition charting the 75 year history of the electric guitar.

Guitars played by some of Rock's greatest icons including Jimi Hendrix, Mark Bolan, Van Morrison and Keith Richards will be on display alongside rare vintage guitars and amps, including a 1950's Silvertone and an early Rickenbacker arch top.

There'll also be a chance to see instruments designed by the likes of Bryan Adams, Patrick Cox, David LaChapelle and Nick Rhodes and the event will culminate in a celebrity auction, organised by Christie's, with all proceeds going to charity.
