The drink: The Milky Way
What’s in it? Milky Way infused milk washed Bulleit Bourbon, vanilla & maple syrup, nutmeg & clove tincture
Why should we try it? When we say “milk punch” don’t go thinking we’re talking milkshakes. This is clarified (clear) not a whipped up feast, served on ice and so much lighter. The way that the bourbon has been washed means it’s still got that silky smooth mouth feel plus that malty sweetness from the Milky Way candy bar rounding it out into a chocolately, rich but weirdly light drink; you’ve got to try it to understand quite how good it is. Sound too sweet? It’s actually perfectly balanced and with the nutmeg and clove coming through you’re not going to keel over from sugar overload.
Where do we get it? Callooh Callay on Rivington Street has been rocking our drinking world for a while now, but when we’re over the crowds we head through the looking glass and up the secret stairs to the Jubjub Bar. Behind a locked door and invite only after 10pm, this hideaway is dark and sultry, yet fun with an adventurous atmosphere and a menu that changes every two weeks giving a rotating cast of bartenders a chance to develop and experiment. Open an extra hour after the main bar downstairs, you’ll find yourself blinking in the main lights as you exit and wonder where the time has gone.

Who do we ask for? For the next two weeks (until Sept. 6th) the mastermind behind the stick is Nathan Shearer. For this menu, he created a menu based around space with Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and other planetary beings.
