Private members club The Ministry opens cocktail bar in the loo

First look: Ministry of Sound private members club which features a bathroom bar

Never has a queue for the loo been so diverting — a tequila bar has been opened in the ladies’ lavatories at a new private members’ club.

The Standard was first inside the Ministry of Sound club, billed as a “curated community” for the music, media, culture and tech industries to which “non-creatives need not apply”.

Its renovated warehouse site, adjacent to the 25-year-old nightclub in Southwark, has music studios, a fitness suite, a cinema and a restaurant where menus will be 30 per cent vegan and vegetarian to cater to on-trend tastes.

A 70ft bar spans the ground floor, while the Vanity Suite women’s bar alleviates the boredom of a comfort break with cocktails and shots.
