Al Desko: dried fruit

29 August 2012

What: dried fruit

Where from: Urban Fruit, available from ASDA, Tesco and independent stores (£2.19, urbanfruit.co.uk)

Taste assessment: Something about eating this fun-sized packet of dried fruits turns you into an excited child. In fact our immediate assessment of the pile of shrivelled-up raspberries was “squishy, sticky, yummy”. The pieces have been carefully covered in apple juice before being baked, which gives them a full flavour — incredibly sweet and a little bit tangy. Well, all bar the strawberries, which were a bit of a letdown. But if it’s three o’clock on a weekday afternoon and you’re about to reach for Haribo’s Tangfastics, these are healthier and just as fun.
