Charbrew strawberry and cream tea

Beetroot colouring is all this tea has going for it
14 May 2012

What: Charbrew strawberry and cream tea (£2.99)

Where from: Sainsbury’s (charbrew.com)

Tester’s taste assessment: These delicate silky teabags have a nice vanilla smell but could do with having more strawberries in them. The packet recommends brewing for 10 minutes but it took at least fifteen for this tea to taste of anything other than hot water. Once it eventually infused, the natural beetroot in the bag meant it turns a deep pink colour. Unfortunately the colour is the only thing this tea has going for it. The taste is sickly, not worth the wait - I was left dry mouthed and craving a cup of builder’s tea.
