Down the cakehole: Hot boxes

19 April 2012

If you’re a “can’t cook, won’t cook” type, this might persuade you to pull on your oven gloves. Hello Fresh is a new London delivery service started by ex-lawyer Patrick Drake — who used to work in the Cuckoo Club restaurant during his lunch hour until colleagues discovered he was moonlighting and he had to quit.

The idea is to cut back on shopping and cooking time so each week you are sent a box with a selection of step-by-step photo recipe cards and the ingredients for each dish. Everything is weighed out — from a single radish to a pinch of Himalayan salt. A three-meal plan for two people costs from £39 a week.
