Ruby chocolate KitKats will be available in the UK from next week

The UK will be the first European country to try the ruby KitKats

Did you know there was a fourth kind of chocolate? Neither did we.

Along with milk, dark and white, ruby chocolate or ‘couverture chocolate’ is made from specially selected cocoa beans.

The pink hue comes naturally after the beans have gone through a unique process to unlock the flavours and colour tones.

Now, Nestlé have covered their iconic four-finger KitKat with the delicacy and they are available to buy in the UK at Tesco from Monday, April 16.

Already a hit in Japan and Korea, the ruby KitKat offers a new taste experience as the ruby chocolate has an intense berry-flavoured taste.

Alex Gonnella, Marketing Director for Nestlé’s UK confectionery business, said: “Ruby chocolate is a big innovation in confectionery and we are very proud that KitKat is the first major brand in the UK to feature this exciting new chocolate.”

Pink KitKat hitting UK shelves

Nestlé has launched more than 350 different variants of KitKat over the years, including green tea, wasabi and cherry blossom versions.
