Pizza Pilgrims to offer nationwide delivery of its DIY frying pan pizzas

Popular London pizza purveyor Pizza Pilgrims are to deliver their make-your-own-pizza kits nationwide from next week.

The mini chain, which has 12 restaurants in the capital and one in Oxford, is to extend the delivery remit of its frying pan pizza kits to include the whole of the UK from April 22. They have previously only been available in certain areas of London via Deliveroo.

The Frying Pan Pizza Kit contains all the ingredients necessary to create two of Pizza Pilgrims’s signature margherita pizzas, including two balls of its Neapolitan double-fermented dough for the base, the restaurant’s own ready-made tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella, parmesan, basil and olive oil.

The recipe for the boxes has been tweaked to make it possible for home cooks to make their pies using only a domestic oven and a frying pan, rather than requiring a super hot traditional pizza oven.

The kits cost £18, plus a £4.99 delivery charge, and can be ordered for next day delivery. The recipe box contains how-to instructions, but new pizzaiolos can also head to the Pizza Pilgrims website and their social media to view tutorial videos for the box, as well as find out how to make the likes of their famous sourdough and tomato sauce from scratch.

Pizza Pilgrims is not the only London restaurant brand adapting to the lockdown and people’s craving to experience their favourite dishes, freshly cooked at home. Burger buff Patty & Bun has launched DIY recipe boxes for its most popular burgers in collaboration with butcher HG Walter, while Wagamama has launched its own cooking channel Wok From Home to show people how to cook the likes of its katsu curry and yasai yaki soba noodles.
