Twitter users have been mocking Donald Trump after the US President spelled Florida "Frorida" in another social media gaffe.

Mr Trump wrote on Monday: "My visits last week to Texas and Frorida had massive numbers of cheering people gathered along the roads and highways, thousands and thousands, even bigger (by far) than the crowds of 2016.

"Saw no Biden supporters, and yet some in the Fake News said it was an equal number. Sad!"

Twitter users - including LBC radio presenter James O'Brien - wasted no time in pointing out the error.

Meanwhile US political commentator Brandon Friedman contrasted the comical gaffe with the huge health and economic problems facing the country.

He said: "The Senate is on vacation, GOP House members are dosing themselves with hydroxychloroquine and the president is tweeting about "Frorida" while major American businesses are collapsing."

Mr Trump is set to run against former Vice President Joe Biden this November in the US presidential election. Florida is expected to be a key battleground state - Mr Trump won in 2016, but polls show Mr Biden ahead this year.

The President was also mocked for claiming large crowds greeted him in Florida, when photos appeared to show a more modest turnout.

This is the latest mistake made by Mr Trump on Twitter, where he is notoriously active as a poster.

Perhaps his most famous gaffe was a soon-deleted tweet in May 2017 that read simply: "Despite the constant negative press covfefe".

The tweet went viral, with Mr Trump later adding: "Who can figure out the true meaning of 'covfefe' ??? Enjoy!"
