'20th hijacker' in court

The first suspect to be charged over the 11 September terror acts, has appeared in court a few hundred yards from the World Trade Center remains.

Zacarias Moussaoui who has been called the 20th hijacker, appeared at Manhattan Federal Court in New York last night, charged with six counts of conspiracy related to the attacks.

The 33 - year- old French-Moroccan, who lived in London until a year ago, made no plea or declaration during the 10-minute hearing.

The hearing was to give the go-ahead to transfer the suspected al Qaeda member from Manhattan, where he had been held since 12 September, to Virginia, where he will go to trial next year.
