600 delayed on Eurostar

Six hundred Eurostar passengers spent last night in Kent hotels after two services to Paris broke down holding up the great London getaway.

Delays were caused by heavy snowfalls in France. Stretches of the M25, M1 and M11 were brought to a virtual standstill with tailbacks stretching several miles

Around 300 Virgin Trains staff were staging a 24-hour walkout from 6pm yesterday, but the company said there would be no disruption.
