Australian gang caused Tube chaos

12 April 2012

An Australian graffiti gang caused £70,000 worth of damage across London's train network.

The gang vandalised more than a dozen Tube and mainline trains in east London and Essex.

Six members of AMF (Australian Mother F******) filmed themselves carrying out the vandalism and posted it on the internet.

Southwark Crown Court heard how their actions caused chaos to commuters as rail operators had to take trains out of service.

Scott Mulhearn, 21, Adrian Hing, 22, Luke Vassell, 23, Jack Shumack, 24, Alex Wisman, 24, and Marcus Wisman, 22, were arrested on Boxing Day at Ilford station.

Subsequent police searches found evidence linking the gang to various other graffiti attacks..

Mulhearn, Hing, Vassell and Shumack, all of Belgrave Road, Dalston, and the Wisman brothers, both of Devons Road, Bromley-by-Bow, all pleaded guilty to the conspiracy to commit criminal damage between July and December last year.

The court heard some of the defendants have convictions for similar offences in Australia. They will all remain in custody until they are sentenced on 17 June.
