Blondie to play Kenwood picnic concerts

12 April 2012

Blondie is to join the line-up for the Kenwood picnic concerts.

Thirty five years after Deborah Harry and Chris Stein formed the American band which had hits including Call Me and Heart Of Glass, they will open this year's programme at the Hampstead estate run by English Heritage.

Harry, 64, last played in London two years ago as part of a world tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of album Parallel Lines.

Blondie are already scheduled to play the Isle of Wight Festival as well as a gig at the Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire this summer and possibly Glastonbury.

Blondie launch the Kenwood House Picnic Concerts on 26 June.
