This Is London

The organisers have heralded the show, known as Xcom, as the "festival of inappropriate technology."

Held near King's Cross, the show will be a chance for everyone to get in touch with their nerdy side as they take part in a veritable jumble sale of new technology and cyber. Not only will there be stalls and displays by some of the tech world's biggest and best liggers, shakers and underground visionaries, but there are planned speakers - including a tribute to 20 years of the Spectrum.

Not only that, but there will be appearances from noted dignitaries on the geek scene, including NTK's own Dave Green and Dan O'Brien, weblogging guru Tom Coates and Charlie Brooker of TV Go Home .

We're sure to be there, indulging our nerdiest computer fantasies whilst playing twiddly electro-music on a series of dismembered Texas calculators.

Extreme Computing 2002, Sunday 9th June, 11am-7pm. Camden Centre , WC1 (020). Admission £3, nearest tube King's Cross. For more information, visit the Xcom2002 site.
