CENTRICA agreed to buy offshore oil and gas assets, including 33% of the North Sea's Statfjord field and 50% of the Orwell gas field, from Chevron Texaco for £60.8m, provided other owners approve the sale. Centrica rose 3/4p to 204 1/2p.
