Coldplay rap up extra dates with Jay-Z

JAY-Z will appear with Coldplay as a special guest on three new UK stadium shows, it has been announced.

The US hip-hop star appeared at this year's Glastonbury Festival and is a friend of the band. The additional shows will take place next September and tickets go on sale on Friday.

The band's sell-out 2008 tour begins in Sheffield on Saturday and includes three nights at the O2 next month. The new shows are at Manchester's Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Glasgow's Hampden Park and Wembley Stadium on 19September. Coldplay's Viva La Vida album, released in June, was number one in 36 countries.
