13 April 2012

ENTREPRENEUR Simon Eagle will be appointed chairman of Fundamental-e Investments this week as part of his strategy to turn it into a multimedia business.

Eagle, who with a 10% stake is the largest single shareholder in the computer components firm, plans to refocus it as a supplier of multimedia products such as plasma TV screens and online content.

Chairman Robert Durstan and chief executive Peter Kitson stepped down on Friday and Eagle, who has been involved in a number of corporate makeovers, took over the reins.

Fundamental-e is expected to grow through acquisitions funded by share issues, with the first deals as early as this week in the field of games and music. The shares closed on Friday at 4.13p, valuing the company at £6.8m.
