Evening Standard13 April 2012

Former Hollywood star Farah Fawcett was today reported to be unconscious in critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital as she struggles in her battle with cancer.

The 62-year-old, who shot to fame as one of Charlie's Angels in the Seventies television show, has been suffering from cancer for three years.

Her family and close friends, including her long-term partner Ryan O'Neal, have reportedly been gathered to her bedside. Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer in September 2006.

Just four months later she declared herself cured, only for the disease to return in mid-2007.

She had been in Germany undergoing experimental stem-cell treatments.
