Gold soars to six-year high

GOLD hit a six-year high of $356 an ounce before closing at $352, up $5 amid fears over Iraq, coupled with alarm at America's £1.2bn-a-day trade deficit. Oil rose $1.23 to $31.81 a barrel, even though exporters plan to boost output. The dollar tumbled half a cent to $1.61 against the pound and $1.05 against the euro.
