Harriet Harman's office spent more than £1,860 on plants and flowers

Harriet Harman's office spent more than £1,860 on plants and flowers during the last financial year, it was disclosed.

But the Commons leader has since terminated the contract, deputy Commons leader Barbara Keeley said, in a Commons written reply.

Ms Keeley told Tory Grant Shapps (Welwyn Hatfield) that the office of the Leader of the Commons spent £1,862.76 on plants and flowers in 2008-09.

"A decision was taken some time ago to terminate the contract for plants and flowers. The contract has been terminated," she said.
