SENIOR directors of the International Monetary Fund will meet next Tuesday to discuss filling the vacant leadership.

Former Spanish Economy Minister Rodrigo Rato is the front-runner for the top job after his rival for the European Union's nomination - France's Jean Lemierre - pulled out of the race this week.
