Lloyds TSB chairman to join BA board

12 April 2012

LLOYDS TSB chairman Maarten van den Bergh today looked set to join the board of British Airways as a non-executive director.

Mr van den Bergh, who is also a director at BT Group, has been nominated by the BA board for election at its annual general meeting on July 16.

The Dutchman's appointment will follow the departure of Michael Davies, who has been a board member since 1983, and the Raymond Seitz, who is stepping down after seven years.

BA said it would reduce the number of board members from 12 to 11 following the latest departures.

Mr Davies is a member of BA's remuneration committee and also chairman of ports and logistics group Simon, and transport giant National Express. He will not stand for re-election at the end of his three-year term.
