Londoners back congestion charge

13 April 2012

More than half of Londoners believe the congestion charge is a success, according to new online poll.

The poll, on This is London, shows 56% believe the £5 charge has had a successful first 12 months.

Today's results back Ken Livingston's claims that the congestion charge has been a major success. Traffic delays inside the zone have been cut by 30 per cent, he said on the anniversary of the charge.

The poll quizzed 500 people using This is London this morning.

Asked, 'Has the Congestion Charge been a success in its first year?', 56% of respondents replied yes; 44% said no.
