Man in court for schoolteacher murder

A man accused of the murder of a schoolteacher who died after disturbing an intruder in his home was further remanded in custody today.

Yousef Bouhaddou, 26, appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from Belmarsh Prison in south London.

He was remanded in custody for three weeks when a plea and directions hearing is due.

Bouhaddou is alleged to have murdered Robert Symons, 45, at his home in Chiswick, west London, on October 20.

Mr Symons died at the Charing Cross Hospital in west London after receiving a single stab wound.
