Marcus the pet sheep is dead

The head teacher at the centre of a row about the slaughter of a school pet sheep today admitted that Marcus the sheep dead.

Head of Lydd Primary Andrea Chapman has ignored appeals from parents and pupils — and even chat show host Paul O'Grady— to save the sheep.

She said: "The decision to send the Wether lamb for meat, which has the support of the school council and staff, the governing body and the majority of parents, has now been carried out. One mum, who didn't want to be named, said: "Andrea Chapman will, from this moment on, be a murderer to me."
