'N-bomb plans found in hideout'

Documents found in a Kabul safe house used by Bin Laden show detailed plans for a nuclear bomb similar to the one that destroyed Nagasaki, The Times claims today.

The dossiers reportedly contain descriptions of how the detonation of TNT compresses plutonium into a critical mass, sparking a chain reaction leading to a thermonuclear reaction similar to the bomb dropped on the Japanese city in 1945.

The partly-burned papers are said to have been discovered after local people looted a hastily abandoned building.
