AIM-LISTED oil group Petrel Resources' bid to strike it rich in the Iraq desert gathered pace today after it raised £959,500 of funding in a share placing. The Irish company, in talks to explore a 10,000 sq km block of Western Iraq, sold 7.4m shares at 13p.
