Piano Man clue is another dead end

Another lead in the hunt for the identity of the mystery patient known as the Piano Man has been proved false.

It had been claimed that the smartly-dressed man found wandering near a Kent beach was Czech musician Tomas Strnad. But the real Mr Strnad said he has never visited Britain, adding: "This is someone else, not me." The Piano Man was found by police in Sheerness last month. He was soaking wet and in distress.

He has said nothing and all the labels had been cut out of his clothes.

He was called the Piano Man after amazing hospital staff with a virtuoso performance on the chapel piano.

There have now been 1,000 tips concerning his identity and there are about 250 possible names still to be checked.
