Ernest Jones jewellery shop in Kensington High Street after raiders smashed the window

Police are hunting two more members of the smash-and-grab motorbike gang whose jewellery store raid was foiled by members of the public.

Four men remained in custody today after shoppers confronted the masked robbers as they tried to make a getaway with £400,000 worth of designer watches from Ernest Jones in Kensington High Street.

The Standard reported yesterday how a raider was pulled from his bike and held until police arrived. Motorists used their cars to block escape routes for the other robbers. Police arrested three men as they fled.

Most of the haul of Rolex watches was recovered but detectives believe two more men remain at large.
